From October 2009 through January 2025, ThumbPrint News focused on places of interest in the Thumb of Michigan and people and businesses at work and at play in this area. Many articles were human interest stories, pertaining to events in the area, hobby related articles, as well as articles of interest to a wide section of the population in this area.
Over the 15+ years we could not have been more grateful to our loyal readers, subscribers, writers and advertisers. We have valued your support, comments, feedback and shared experiences.
Of course, we couldn’t say goodbye without a little bit of history. Goodbye is a contraction of the phrase “God be with ye”, that was first used in a letter in 1573 by English writer and scholar, Gabriel Harvey. Later, 17th-century American colonists were known to say “God bye to you”, “Fare thee well” or “Pray remember me”, all of which express well wishes as you part company.
